INSTRUMENTS

I am currently building 6-8 guitars annually and make my instruments available directly to players. I always keep at least one demo instrument on hand in the studio. Although I am happy to ship an instrument for your approval, whenever practicable, I strongly encourage players to visit my studio. It affords the player an opportunity to try any instrument available at the time and to discuss any specific adjustments or custom commissions. This approach has afforded me the opportunity to develop a personal relationship and element of trust with my clients.

CONCERT CLASSICAL NYLON STRING GUITARS

My standard classical guitar is a 650 mm scale instrument. The standard instrument is built using East Indian rosewood and either western red cedar or various species of spruce top woods. All the woods used to create my guitars are well seasoned, as most of my wood supply has been curing in my shop for over twenty years. My rosette is made from natural and dyed veneers and all of the purfling and bindings for the guitar are made in my shop. The standard finish is a hand-applied French polish of shellac. I am currently using Waverly/Sloane tuners on my instruments. The standard classical guitar is currently priced at $4500.

GRAND CONCERT STEEL STRING GUITARS

My standard steel string guitars are both grand concert size instruments. The smaller is a 635 mm scale (25 inch) guitar with 12 frets clear to the body. The scale length, light bracing and dimensions of the guitar yield a rich, warm tone and are intended to compliment the fingerstyle player or classical guitarist looking for a "cross-over" instrument. The standard instrument is built with a slotted peghead and East Indian rosewood with various species of spruce or western red cedar top woods. The finish is a hand rubbed varnish. I am currently using Waverly/Sloane tuners on these instruments. The standard 12 fret guitar is priced at $4000.
